The Dapo Abiodun Youth Forum has announced plans to host the seventh edition of its End-of-the-Year Party and Empowerment Scheme, featuring a business exhibition and cash grants for 500 business owners across Ogun State.

The event, scheduled for Tuesday, December 22, 2026, is expected to combine youth engagement, entrepreneurship promotion and end-of-year celebrations, with the organisers highlighting financial support for small business owners as a major attraction.

According to the event flyer released by the organisers, each of the 500 selected business owners is expected to receive a cash grant of ₦100,000, bringing the total proposed grant allocation to ₦50 million.

The initiative, tagged “Season 7: End of the Year Party and Empowerment Scheme 2026,” is part of the forum's stated efforts to promote business development and provide support for entrepreneurs in the state.

The programme will take place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Business Exhibition to Open Programme

The organisers have scheduled a business exhibition from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., providing an opening segment for participating entrepreneurs to showcase their products, services and business activities.

The end-of-year party and empowerment programme will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The combination of a business exhibition and cash-grant initiative is designed to place entrepreneurship at the centre of the gathering, while providing an opportunity for business owners to display their offerings and potentially connect with customers and other participants.

For small-scale entrepreneurs, access to financial support can help address some of the challenges associated with running a business, including the purchase of equipment, restocking of goods, expansion of operations and improvement of service delivery.

If implemented as announced, the proposed ₦50 million grant scheme could provide a financial boost to the 500 intended beneficiaries, particularly operators of micro and small enterprises seeking to strengthen their businesses.

Focus on Youth Development and Economic Empowerment

The seventh edition of the programme underscores the forum's continued use of an annual end-of-year gathering to combine social engagement with an empowerment initiative.

Youth empowerment and entrepreneurship remain important considerations in efforts to improve economic participation, encourage self-employment and create opportunities for young people and small business operators.

Beyond the immediate financial benefits, initiatives of this nature can contribute to local economic activity when beneficiaries deploy the support productively, sustain their enterprises and expand their capacity to serve customers.

However, the effectiveness of the scheme will depend on the grant-selection process, transparency in beneficiary identification, timely disbursement and the ability of recipients to translate the financial support into sustainable business growth.

Details concerning eligibility requirements, the application process, selection criteria and the commencement of registration were not provided on the event flyer. Prospective participants are therefore advised to obtain further information directly from the organisers before making commitments.

Abeokuta to Host December Gathering

The choice of the June 12 Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta, places the event in a major public venue within Ogun State's capital.

The programme is scheduled to run for most of the day, beginning with the business exhibition in the morning and continuing with the empowerment activities and end-of-year celebration.

The organisers have provided contact details for enquiries and sponsorship opportunities. Interested individuals and organisations can contact Dammy on 08164710939 or Horlatof on 08100744366.

As preparations continue towards the December 22 event, attention is expected to focus on how the proposed grant scheme will be implemented, the criteria for selecting the 500 beneficiaries and the potential impact of the initiative on participating businesses.

The organisers' announcement positions the Season 7 programme as an opportunity to bring entrepreneurs together while highlighting financial assistance and youth-focused engagement as central themes of the gathering.
