Crowds Line Route as Ogun East Campaign Takes Message to Grassroots

IJEBU-ODE, OGUN STATE — Ijebu-Ode witnessed a strong display of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) colours and campaign activities as the party’s Ogun East senatorial campaign, led by its candidate, Alhaji Abdulhameed Femi Omotayo, popularly known as OmoOwo, took its mobilisation drive through the historic town.

The campaign, according to the OmoOwo campaign team, attracted market women, traders, youths, residents and party supporters who gathered along parts of the route leading towards Odogbolu.

The reception became one of the major talking points of the exercise, with the campaign presenting the turnout as evidence of growing grassroots engagement around OmoOwo’s senatorial bid.

Omotayo emerged as the PDP candidate for Ogun East following the party’s senatorial primary held at the Adeola Odutola Hall in Ijebu-Ode on May 20, 2026. Reports of his emergence identified him as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 Ogun East senatorial contest.
